Come Garden with Us

We meet at the garden most Saturday mornings.

We meet between 9 and 10am, from mid-April through late September. Gardening days run two to three hours, and it's genuinely come-as-you-can: everyone has vacations, family obligations, and weekends that get away from them. We understand, and we're glad to see you whenever you show up.

This is a mature, established garden.

It sits in a beautiful courtyard of the CU Boulder campus, cared for by a group of people who actually delight in being here. We're men and women with different gardening backgrounds — some with decades of experience, some with very little — and we work collaboratively. If you have particular knowledge or training you'd like to bring, we'll gladly make use of it. If you're still learning, there's room for that too.

Every plant in this garden has a story.

Part of the pleasure of volunteering is gradually coming to know those stories — how a particular rose arrived, why a certain herb was chosen, what connects this small plot of earth to the plays performed just steps away. It's a garden worth getting to know.

We work hard on Saturday mornings.
And we go home happy.

Sweet flowers are slow and weeds make haste.
